Civic Center ribbon-cutting ceremony kicks off grand opening celebrations events

Neighborhood Stabilization Plan Workshop and review of amendment to CDBG action plan meeting held Nov. 17

The Port St. Lucie City Council unanimously approved the Neighborhood Stabilization Program substantial amendment to the Community Development Block Grant action plan at a public workshop on Monday. The meeting was held to discuss the city’s proposed plans for utilizing $13.5 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). View the city’s amendment. The funds will be used to purchase foreclosed or abandoned homes under HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Read more.

Public hearing on CDBG annual performance reports

The City of Port St. Lucie will hold a public hearing on Monday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. on the 2007/2008 Community Development Block Grant Annual Performance Reports. The meeting will be held in Council Chambers located in City Hall, Building A, 121 S.W. Port St. Lucie Blvd, and will take place during the regularly scheduled City Council meeting. Read more.

City gets $50,000 grant to plant trees along CRA's Woodstork Trail

New city fitness center offering special rates to public

With the grand opening of the City of Port St. Lucie’s Civic Center scheduled for Dec. 1, the Parks and Recreation Department is offering discounted memberships at the 3,000-square foot fitness center, which features state-of-the-art conditioning equipment, a gymnasium, indoor racquetball courts and a variety of recreational programs for people of all ages. Police Department taking applications for next Citizens’ Academy

The Port St. Lucie Police Department will begin its 2009 annual Citizens Police Academy in January, and anyone interested in learning about the role police officers or about how the department works is invited to apply.
